and i never have problems

just remember that each new line is 2 chars "\r\n" that is how windows recognize a line feed in tooltips

I don't get this part though.I think it is partly because of %original%.That takes a lot word space.You think?

yup %original% tends to be big if you consider "Windows Live Messenger BETA" you waste 27 chars...

the format i wrote above is actually read by windows like:

e-mail: %email% (%unread%)\r\n
%status%\r\n
Open Chats: %chats%

\r is the carriage return character
\n new line feed character
\ is an escape character, therefore \r is treated as a single char same as \n
these characters are not visible to the user though

So these commands are hidden from us but Windows reads them like this?So we do not need to add them?

TazDevil, I'm assuming that there are separate preferences for each user. Would it be too much to request a feature to remember the last location a user had his/her contact list?

Right now with my polygamy both contact lists open on top of each other, when I'd rather emailaddress1 opened in the middle of the screen (it docks to the top) and emailaddress2 opened on the right (to dock to the right).

Edit: when I say dock, I mean auto-hide.

I'd Really love the auto-hide feature to be more like Vista's handwriting docked.

so you see a small slither of border, when you hover over it pop out a bit more with the handwriting pen on, when you click it whizzes out, having that for messenger would be SOOOOO cool

Just a little tab on the side, pops out with messenger logo on click whizzes out
