MP!L4.00 Won't be released until March/April time (probably).

Also, there is a thread about beta testing, please go there.

I believe he said the beta testing will start in the middle of feb. -.-

But the final (public) release of MP!L4.00 will be later.

Will it be possible to convert the old chat logs to the new format?

The beta testers have been chosen already. If you applied and were chosen as one then you will receive an email in the next two days (you can only be chosen if you applied when Patchou asked for beta testers).

Not entirely true, I asked to test the last beta half way through for reasons that there was some 9x imcompatibility issues that I wanted to help fix. He might not do that this time though.
