let a pic of the contact or a image fils you assigned to that contect pop up instead of the blue thingy with their name.
bettermsn has it, so you can disable the function in messenger itslef and let plus take over only with a picture instead of the name.

customized names, but i don;t think you do that.

saving preferences would be nice.

I don't know if someone else has already requested this but I would like to see "Command Completion" similar to the "Quick Emoticons" (and "Code Insight/Completion" found in many IDEs, such as Visual Studio).
I.e. if the user types '/' then a popup appears with available commands to select from...

This would enhance the usability of the many commands/features available in Plus! and would increase the use of them, many users don't even know about most of the commands/features...

( "Easter egg commands" could still me hidden )

...and of cource a Preference option to turn this "Command Completion" off for those who don't desire it...

Also, when "(" is pressed, the popup that appears could contain also (!IP), (!WAT), etc...

And btw, the text "auto-message" could be translated, couldn't it?

what about we can preview the sounds before we pass them on to our contacts..

I like the tag completion idea, i like a lot of the other ideas so i won't list them all.
Script script script!  A layout like in mIRC would be good, with sections for code for aliases, tags, menu items and events.
Disabling the blue 'toast' popups when you're busy
More popup options for when you're online, particularly when a status changes from busy to online etc.
And if you're going to make more easter eggs (please do), please don't make them as useful/fun as the sounds!  I don't think i could stand another wave of newbies asking for them.

And if you don't add all the features I want, provided you do add scripting we can make them all ourselves

i just have a small practical suggestion concerning the /away command
i think it would be nice if you could ad the tags for time when you'll be back and remaining time in the /away command
I dont know quite how to do it, or if it's possible, but id would be a nice change ....
